Reader’s
Club
Developing reading
habit and information literacy skills among students and teachers is the
primary objective of a school library. A well organized and active Reader’s
club helps to achieve this objective. Librarian shall be the in-charge of the
Reader’s Club supported by a committee of students and teachers. In the
Kendriya Vidyalaya STPS SURATGARH, Reader’s Club has been working from last
four years. There is 04 teachers and 154 students are the members of Readers
club.
This committee shall
meet as often as possible but at least once in three months. The
Reader’s Club President and Secretary shall be given with badges as a
promotional measure.

This committee shall

reader’s club committee has been constituted and following teachers will be
given their active participation to the achieve the goal of reader’s club:

Activities of Reader’s Club:
Annual Activity Plan
has been prepared by the librarian in the starting of the session and followed
in whole academic year. Library also published its news letter time to time.
There is various activities performed by the student Members of Reader’s Club i.e.
Assembly
programs (weekly book review in
the assembly in English and Hindi, enacting the famous characters from a book,
etc), Events and campaigns (Meet
the Author, visit to a local library, drop everything and read campaign, My
dear Book (Book talks), reading week etc.,
Competitions i.e. Book review writing, reading competition,
storytelling, book jacket/book mark designing, literary quiz, etc.
In the month of October 2018
reader’s club celebrated the library month in this month various activities
held in the vidyalaya i.e. literary quiz, book mark designing, book Jacket
Designing, extempore etc.
The Reader’s Club Kendriya Vidyalaya STPS Suratgarh has
developed an annual activity plan with the various activities. ANNUAL READER’S
CLUB ACTIVITY PALN (ARCAP) has been given below:

1. Badges
Ceremony: Batches given to the Reader’s
Club Student Presidents, Secretary in the Assembly time.
2. Book
review writing: All the students writing book reviews of books
which they borrowed from the library in library periods (Records maintained in
the library)
3. Assembly programmes: weekly book review presented in the assembly in
English and Hindi, enacting the famous characters from a book, Amazing Facts,
Literary Quiz , yoga etc
4.
Events and campaigns: Meet the Author,
visit to a local library, drop everything and read campaign, My dear Book (Book
talks), reading week, Community Reading, Vidyalaya Book Fair etc
